PJ's

Yesterday we got a package in the mail from Grammie G & Papa. There were chocolates, news paper clippings, notes, as well as the hand made PJ’S that she made HAND MADE sewing. I just love all the detail that went into it. There is a little embossed Scottie dog in the front, and the front of the pants has a “zipper” look to it. The blue in it is made of sweat pant material. It is just wonderful! It is nice and warm for winter as well. She sure has a gift. Even the quality is better than anything you can get in the stores. Plus it is extra special because it was made by Grammie G. Thank you for the beautiful package Mom & Dad! We were both very teared up when we opened it. The other 2 items that she put in the package were 2 home made “magic bags” …you know the ones that you heat up in the microwave? We LOVE our heating bags :) I will probably use one tonight while relaxing with Ryan. I know the pictures turned out quite dark, my camera has been taking pictures like that lately.....I really hope I don't have to invest in a new one. I can't live without it, but these dark pictures are really not good enough.

Jacob Loves Lego

~
Jacob is sitting on his wooden train set table. I will build it and within minutes he tears it apart, puts the pieces on the floor to leave room for his stuffed animals. He makes room for himself and starts playing with Lego. I think he is having more fun sitting on the train table playing toys than having it set up all the time. I still haven't taken a picture yet of the train set all set up. I will have to do it some evening he is asleep. That way it will give me a chance to get a picture before it is taken down!

Jacob had fun playing on the ice with his cousins Emma, Adam, Micalea, Molly, Jeremiah, Halley and Maggie. My Aunt Cathy has a pond in their back yard and we all get together and skate. Jacob and Maggie had fun getting pushed around in the shovel by Patrick. Works just as good as a sled! Jacob didn’t stay out too long though because he hates the cold and refused to keep his mittens on.

Hockey Game

Well, I would go ahead and say that this was Jacob's first time at a hockey game but it is actually his second. The first time my pictures didn't turn out and now I don't have any record of it :(. It was run through the Tim Hortons hockey and people from all over came to play and participate. Jacob was still a little too young to play but he came with his cousins Emma, Adam and Micalea who were playing. The time between games got quite long so what they did was rented several
Inflatable play rooms. There were some with race cars and punching bags in them and others with a ton of stuff to climb but there was one that Jacob could get on and that was the pirate ship. There were little steps to help get to the top and a huge slide to get down. He had so much fun. Of course, since it was run through Tim Hortons there was all you can eat timbits and coffee. The younges cousin Adam asked me "did you come to see me, or were you just here for the food?" lol It was so cute. Funny how children's minds work. As I said in an earlier post I don't like sweets, and I really don't drink coffee so I could honestly answer in response "I came to see you...I haven't had 1 timbit!"

Watching Emma, Micalea, and Adam play. In these pictures I think you can only see Adam in the middle picture #8.

We were there all day so we got to enjoy some hot dogs! Jacob has a funny look on, he is starving, chewing his food and trying to say cheese all at the same time.

Jacob had fun running back and forth down the aisles of bleachers. He never let go of his satin edged blanket. He never sucked his thumb and he never liked a soother and gave up his bottle pretty easy and he isn't even 2 yet, but the one thing that I don't think he will give up any time soon is his satin edged blanket. He finds them so cozy and soft. I was the same way when I was little. I would rub the satiny part against my face. It was so soothing. He learned that all on his own though :)

Crazy Days....

*click image for larger view* Jacob & Daddy

Oh my, what a day it has been. Jacob is down for his nap today….thankfully. The last two days he hasn’t had a nap. He isn’t even two yet! I know children well into the age 4-6 that still have naps. What age did your children stop having naps? I still think I will put him down for a bit even if he just has some alone time talking with himself. I am scared because I don't want his napping days to be over :(

Second thing: Ryan called from work, he had left a form at home that he needed during the day and wanted me to read it off to him. I was on the phone maybe 2-3 minutes tops and when I came into the living room Jacob had gotten a chair, pushed it over to his change area and rubbed vaseline ALL over his hair, clothes, couch, carpet EVERYTHING. So normally he would have a bath right before bed, but today first thing this morning he went into the tub. Even after washing his hair 5X with baby shampoo and dish soap his hair is still sticking together. Any advice???? This is the first time he has taken the chair and pushed it over to where he wants to reach something. What a smarty pants....and a new can of worms being opened.

The last thing I wanted to say is that after his swim on Tuesday he put his feet down in the shallow end!!! Before he wouldn't stop wraping his legs around me and now he doesn't mind his feet touching! This is a huge accomplishment for him. It was really bad there for a while and I am pleased to announce that he is over that. He is almost getting too care free, several times he was inching too close to the water that was over his head. Eyes are on him 100%.

Birthday Party

Getting ready to eat his hot dog.

Jacob loved watching all of the other boys hitting the piñata. By the time it was his turn he was really hitting it hard.

He also got to play musical chairs....or course with the help from mommy. But he did get the idea. I just helped him to get there a little faster ;)

The birthday party was a Car's theme.

Jacob playing with a mechanical cat. It purrs, meows, walks, and massages its feet on you. and it looked real! Now that is my kind of cat....I may have to exchange my real ones for that. What do you think lol?

Jacob had fun playing with the other children. but at times I would look for him and he would be in the play room playing contentedly by himself. He especially loved playing with the geo train set. (That is the one I am hoping to get him for his 2nd birthday). Jacob has gone to families homes for birthdays but this was the first one we went to that wasn't family. The person who gave us our orange and white cat to be exact. I only met them a couple of times and her son and Jacob loved playing together. It started at 9:30AM which worked out great because Jacob still gets a noon nap. Overall it was a great time. I am glad that Jacob can play with other children. It is a great way to develop good social skills, plus they can learn from each other and learn to share. I have to admit that I was shocked when Jacob grabbed the toys out of someones hands. I guess all children have to learn how to share.
